2026 Scholarship Application

Charleston Running Club will award scholarships to two graduating high school seniors who participated in cross country or track & field during the 2025-2026 school year.

 

We will award two scholarships, with one male recipient and one female recipient. The full amount will be presented in a lump sum and is non-renewable. 

 

Applicants must:

• Attend a Charleston County (SC) school and graduate in the Class of 2026

• Be accepted to and plan to enroll in a public, private, or technical college in Fall 2026

• Have participated in cross country or track and field during the 2025-2026 school year

• Demonstrate quality scholastic performance with a minimum 3.0 GPA, leadership in school or peer groups, involvement in community service or helping others, and a continued pursuit of their running potential

Eligibility:

High school senior from a Charleston County school who has run cross country or track and will be attending an accredited college or university.

Applicants are NOT required to be running at the collegiate level to apply.

Award:

Two scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship will be presented by Charleston Running Club as a $1000 check to the recipient.

This scholarship is non-renewable.

Application:

1. One page resume of the applicant’s high school career, including academics and extracurricular activities and SIGNED BY YOUR CROSS COUNTRY OR TRACK COACH. ONLY 1 PAGE. Include name of high school and coach, which college you will attend and anticipated major.

2. An well-written essay, 1-3 pages, demonstrating your running journey, how it began and how running has positively contributed to your life and education, and your running intentions for the future.

If you ARE running on a college team, please note this on your resume.

Selection Criteria:

The selection is subjective, but will favor individuals who can demonstrate one or more of the following:

1. Running is a valuable part of his/her life.

2. Demonstration of giving back to the running community.

3. Intention of making running an aspect of his/her future.

4. Solid academics

Deadline:

All applications are due Friday, May 8th, 2026 at 11:59pm. No exceptions.

Selection Process:

A panel of Charleston Running Club members and leadership will choose the scholarship recipients.

​

Presentation:

Once the selection process has been completed, the winners will be notified and a date will be selected to recognize each recipient at their respective school awards celebration.
