VOLUNTEER REWARD PROGRAM

The Charleston Running Club depends upon the volunteers who step up and help make the functions of the Club effective, productive, and enjoyable.  Without these volunteers, the Charleston Running Club would not be able to provide runners, walkers, and bystanders who participate in our events a high-quality experience.  In order to show our appreciation for those who take time out of their busy schedules to assist the Charleston Running Club, we are providing a reward system for them.

The Reward System will award credit for each hour donated to the club to assist with Expos, Races, Club Social Events, and various other Cub activities.

Such activities can include but are not limited to:

·         Manning Expo Booth

·         Packet Pickup

·         Race Registration

·         Course Marshal

·         Race Course Setup

·         Race Course Breakdown

·         Water Station Attendants

·         Transport Race Equipment

·         Assist with Acquiring Race Supplies

Additionally, award credits will be rewarded at a flat rate for the following areas of assistance:

·         Committee Chairperson – 10 credits for each Committee Chair

·         Committee Member – 5 Credits for each Committee

·         Group Run Leader – 2 Credits for each run

·         Board Member – 20 credits for each year of service, rewarded at end of year.

Group affiliations that provide multiple volunteers at once tend to provide people that may not typically volunteer with other events that the Charleston Running Club puts on.  Because of this, they will be awarded a cumulative number of credits to represent the volunteers they provide.  Group leaders will then be able to redeem these credits for club merchandise and or race entries to individual volunteers of their choice from their volunteer group.

Credits may be redeemed for Charleston Running Club Merchandise or Charleston Running Club Race entries.  In order to be eligible to receive credits, volunteers must check in and out with the Volunteer Coordinator, Race Director, Committee Chairperson, or other individual in charge of the event.  Volunteers are not required to be Charleston Running Club members, however, only those with active memberships will be able to carry forward credits to the next year.  Otherwise all credits will reset to 0 on October 1st.  Volunteer points tracking will be from October 1st through September of the following year.

In addition to the reward system, Charleston Running Club members who volunteer throughout the year will invited to a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner in September of each year.  Those members who volunteer more than 10 hours a year will also receive a Volunteer Appreciation Award for their service.  In addition, a volunteer who is determined to go above and beyond in their time and effort in providing volunteer services to the club will be awarded a Unique Volunteer Appreciation Award and $150 check at our end of year Holiday Party.  We will also award three $50 checks to three individual volunteers who are in attendance at the Holiday Party.  Each volunteer will get one entry per hour donated throughout the year to enter into the drawing for the check.
